15th Annual Westerner Days Fair & Exposition North American Pony Chuckwagon Tarp Auction
On Wednesday, March 13, 2013, businesses were invited to join the All Pro Canadian Chuckwagon & Chariot Association and the Westerner Days Fair & Exposition Pony Chuckwagon Committee for a night of bidding battles and down-home western hospitality in Bellinis Sonic Lounge at the Sheraton Red Deer Hotel. Drivers were vying for sponsors to put their company name and logo on one of the 56 wagon tarps during the highly anticipated North America Pony Chuckwagon Championships held during Westerner Days Fair & Exposition, July 17 - 21, 2013.
The 2013 Tarp Auction totalled $161,825.00, with an average of $2890.00 - up $400.00 over last year! Topping the 2013 Auction was the Pumps and Pressure Inc. bid of $6,000 00 for Gary Thiel, the 2012 North American Champion.
The North American Pony Chuckwagon Championships are the culmination of a 19 event racing circuit where the top 56 wagons from the year earn a spot to compete for the coveted title of North American Champion.
